The CCSD Facilities Asset Maintenance Department is encompassed by approximately 400 knowledgeable and specialized trade technicians who are responsible for servicing all schools and administrative buildings in the most safe, reliable, efficient and cost effective manner possible. Areas of service include: Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Roofing, Flooring and Painting.
Facilities Asset Maintenance is geographically divided in four Maintenance Zones that cover all CCSD schools and administrative buildings. Maintenance technicians in each Maintenance Zone are dedicated to providing the highest quality of service in a timely manner. Each school and administrative building has an Operations Manager (OM) who serves as the primary contact for that facility in the event of a maintenance request or emergency. If school staff is unable to reach their OM, they must contact their school principal. Maintenance requests at any location must be submitted online through FAMIS.
In February 2018, the CCSD Facilities Asset Management Department adopted a faster and more efficient system to submit maintenance requests called FAMIS (Facility Asset Management Information System).
FAMIS allows users to submit maintenance requests online through a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week cloud based platform. Once a maintenance request is submitted online, the user will receive an immediate response indicating their request is in process. Consequently, the Maintenance team receives a prompt alert of the services being requested and the work can begin. Through FAMIS, the Maintenance team is able to manage work orders via a mobile platform, allowing technicians to input time and materials in the field for a faster and real-time response. All CCSD schools and administrative buildings have access to FAMIS, in order to submit maintenance requests at any time.
